Workshop: A Floral Demonstration & Hands-On Watercolor

This collaborative workshop came together through a series of serendipitous moments. It all began when New England floral designer and shopkeeper Sandra Sigman of Les Fleurs discovered the delicate watercolor work of Ivy Zellmer, the Napa Valley-based artist behind Ivy Paperie. Sandra soon began carrying Ivy’s stationery in her shop, and the two quickly became friends, eventually reconnecting in Paris.
While visiting Nantucket, Ivy spotted a basket of Studio Carta’s beautiful Italian ribbon in a small island shop. When she learned the studio was located just outside Boston, she made a detour on her way to the airport to visit—and met founder Angela Liguori. The two instantly connected and discovered they shared several mutual friends, including Sandra. Small world.
When Angela learned Ivy was offering watercolor workshops and would be visiting the East Coast this fall, she extended the perfect invitation: to host one at Studio Carta. With Sandra Sigman joining the collaboration to lead a floral demonstration, this creative morning of ribbon, blooms, and watercolor was born—rooted in friendship, creativity, and a bit of serendipity.
It’s a little full-circle moment, which we love. We cannot wait to welcome you for this special, one-of-a-kind day at Studio Carta!

You will leave with foundational knowledge of how to build a beautiful and full floral arrangement by learning the key techniques and principles from florist Sandra Sigman; and enjoy the serenity of watercolor from artist/illustrator Ivy Zellmer, and leave with your own original artwork.
