About Maria Picci:
Maria Picci is the owner and chief designer of Maria Picci ™ living and working in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
After graduating in finance and working for international companies for a decade, Maria began to develop her passion for design.
Extremely focused on detail, Maria took courses of jewelry making, fashion design, trending, and forecasting.
Since 2008, the brand is the result of Maria’s approach to accessories design, focused on the use of non-traditional materials to develop a world of fantastic handcrafted pieces where shape, color, and texture are the main characters. Maria uses ribbons which are subjected to different processes of folding, roll up and overlap to achieve a wide variety of shapes and textures.
Her collection was distinguished with the Seal of Good Design, an official distinction awarded by the Ministry of Industry to the national industry products that stand for innovation, for its commitment to local production, by its position in the market and its quality design.
All pieces are designed, manufactured and assembled in a small atelier in the city of La Plata, Buenos Aires.
She is a passionate traveler, researching for new trends and materials in every corner of every city, of every country she visits.
When she is not working on new designs for her accessories and jewelry line, she is teaching lessons or hosting a series of carefully curated workshops renowned artists and designers teach at her atelier.
