Studio Tour - October First with Rachel Hazell, West Coast of Scotland, UK

$50

We are thrilled to announce a new behind the-scenes studio tour!

Rachel Hazell of The Travelling Bookbinder from West Coast of Scotland, UK.

On Zoom

Saturday, October First

from 12 to 1 pm EST time

Meet Rachel Hazell, aka The Travelling Bookbinder at her island home on the West Coast of Scotland, UK. Rachel is a teacher and book artist who believes everyone has a book inside them. She’s been taking people on creative journeys for over twenty years, online and in person – from Amsterdam to Antarctica, Paris to Edinburgh. Rachel will show you where she works on the Isle of Iona, surrounded by books, paper, thread and ink, with a view out to the ocean. Before taking you right down to the beach and the byre (old cow barn) where there’s space to be messy.

She’ll demonstrate a beautifully simple ribbon binding, from her book Bound. (Available round the world, reprinted three times!) There’ll be much discussion about favorite tools and materials, creative habits and whether stationery addiction is a thing. With the chance to ask questions, satisfy your curiosity about island life and hear about the new MapLove e-course you’ll be wanting to head off on inspiring journeys of your own.

Please note, some of the tour will be pre-recorded because a) the signal is poor and b) October (not much light) but we want you to see as much as possible.

HOW IT WORKS

After you enroll, you will receive an email with the Zoom link to log in.

We are aware that many people will tune in from around the world, so please make use of a timezone converter to determine what 12:00 pm EST time is where you live.

The studio tour will run for 60 minutes. There will be an opportunity for a Q&A in the end of the tour.

We will record the Studio Tour with Rachel Hazell and provide a link to Zoom to all the participants via email, in the end of the tour.
